The Footy Almanac was amongst it in Brisbane’s western suburbs on the weekend where local junior footy club The Gap Dragons held their annual end-of-season intra-club carnival.
The day involved a round robin of modified matches between five teams comprising a mix of Under-8, Under-9 and Under-10 players from the club. As always, the emphasis was on safety, teamwork and fun.
Despite it being a wet and windy morning, the carnival was a great success, concluding with a BBQ and raffle. Amongst the signed Sherrins, Brisbane Lions guernseys and meat trays up for grabs were two copies of Footy Town, signed by our very own John Harms.
The club’s major sponsor is local butcher ‘Meat @ Billy’s’ and Almanacker Sasha Lennon, who coaches the Dragons Under 8s, was on hand to see Billy himself draw the winning tickets.
As expected, Footy Town went down a treat with the winner.
