TAEKWONDO by JA

I WAS A SMALL, WEAK 3 YEAR OLD BOY WHEN MY DAD WAS TELLING ME AWESOME STORIES ABOUT WHEN HE WAS A KID DOING TAEKWONDO. IT WAS FUN TO HEAR THE STORIES MY DAD TOLD ME. I REMEMBER THE EXCITING STORIES, THE FUNNY STORIES AND THE INSPIRATIONAL STORIES.

I WAS STILL SMALL AND WEAK BUT I WAS 4 AND I WAS STARTING THE AWESOME SPORT TAEKWONDO. I WAS EXCITED, THRILLED AND FELT AMAZING. I HAD SET A GOAL TO GET A BLACK BELT. I KNEW IT WOULD TAKE ME A VERY LONG TIME BUT I WAS OK WITH THAT. I HAD MY FIRST LESSON OF TAEKWONDO AND I DIDN’T LIKE IT, I THOUGHT IT WAS CRAP. AFTER THE LESSON I SAID TO MY DAD, “DAD I DON’T LIKE TAEKWONDO. CAN I QUIT NOW!”

BUT MY DAD SAID I SHOULD GO UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH. BY THEN I LIKED TAEKWONDO. I WAS DEVELOPING A PASSON. I WAS MAKING LOVELY FRIENDS, ENJOYING MYSELF AND I JUST LOVE THE HARD FITNESS. MY DAD WOULD GIVE ME TIPS SO I COULD BE BETTER TOO.

I KNOW BETWEEN THE LITTLE, WEAK 3 YEAR OLD ME AND THE BIG STRONG TEN YEAR OLD ME, I HAVE LEARNED A LOT AND I’M FRIENDS WITH ALL THE BLACK BELTS AND I’M A BLACK BELT! I’VE INSPIRED MY OLDER COUSIN TO DO TAEKWONDO TOO. AND I REALLY LIKE TAEKWONDO BECAUSE OF THE FRIENDSHIPS.

Tennis by MW

When I was 7, my parents wanted my sister and I to give tennis a try. My Mum told me that her brother was a tennis player. He was pretty good!

My Mum’s brother was also a tennis coach. A few weeks later our grandpa told us that he himself still played tennis against his friends sometimes.

So, after that, my sister and I agreed to try tennis lessons.

A bit later in the holidays when the weather was quite warm, my sister and I went to the nice park near our house called Edinburgh Gardens, which has massive tennis courts, to start tennis lessons. When the lesson started, I felt a bit nervous. But when I looked at my sister and Dad, it made me feel a lot more confident.

My sister and I were having a very great time. Playing games, doing rallies and warm ups. Once, when our grandparents on Dad’s side of the family drove us to tennis lessons, the air was absolutely freezing.

I don’t know how it happened, but suddenly our grandparents accidently drove onto the path of the park! Fortunately, the path was wide enough to fit a small car and nobody got run over.

I like tennis because it makes me feel happy when I do it. It also makes me feel excited when I watch it on the television. Tennis is very fun.
